The title of the upcoming Tamil film based on the sensational Swathi murder case has been changed as 'Nungambakkam'. Earlier the film was titled as 'Swathi Kolai Vazhakku'.
Last year, the murder of the young IT employee Swathi in broad daylight at the Nungambakkam Railway station in Chennai. shook the entire state. The police arrested a person named Ramkumar who was allegedly Swathi's murderer. During the investigation trial, Ramkumar committed suicide in the prison under suspicious circumstances. There were so many rumours surrounding the murder of Swathi and the alleged suicide of Ramkumar.
Based on these incidents, a Tamil film named 'Swathi Kolai Vazhakku' has been made by a debutant director named SD Ramesh Selvan. The teaser of the film starring newcomers in lead roles was released a few months back and that created flutters in social media.
However Swathi's father Santhana Gopalakrishnan approached the DGP of Police to ban the film made on his daughter without getting the family's consent. Based on the father's complaint the police tried to arrest producer, director and story-writer of the film. However the trio escaped arrest by getting a anticipatory bail from the Court.
Now the film's title has been changed as 'Nungambakkam' and it proves that the makers are going ahead with their plans to release the film.
